did you tried the motor in the Losi? the 13t 5 slot arm , 7.5mm comm , 4.5mm brushes , thinn wall can that all creates alot of speed but no torque i think the low efficiency of the worm axles will kill the motor :yesd3:
That's a good point. Everyone seems to be concerned about my brushed motor with the lnc. If I try to stall the motor by locking a rear wheel under my foot the motor puts enough torque to lift the truck. But I need more drivetime before giving a real opinion. Here are the spec 13t crawlmaster arm, high fill, epoxy balanced. Lathed dual fb9 magnet can Checkpoint endbell with lightweight hardware, copper brush and xtra firm spring ( I grinded slightly the edges of the brush) Ceramic bearing Glad you posted here Christian, one of my next mod in the plan is to modd the worm for thrust bearing.
i rebuild alot of those small comm 5 slot motors they were all overheated + excessive comm / brush wear without much runtime got the best results with narrowed standup brushes (3.2-3.6mm wide) and medium-soft springs , that creates a bit more torque and lowers the comm wear that motor will be great in a light ax10 based rig i tried thrust bearing thing in my lcc too http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/team-los ... y-lcc.html if i would do it again , i would do my own thrust bearings with 2 small hardened washers , ball cage of delrin or teflon and small ceramic balls like the ones known from ball diff rc´s , the ones you can buy are all pretty large
Thanks for the tip Christian, I got a 35t arm, I think I put it in with new brushes. I know you tried it, this is why I did mention it. Thanks for your input Christian! I like the idea of a smaller thrust bearing. The only part that could be holding me back is the homemade ball race.
1439g pret a rouler.
